AUGUST 2011 VICARIATE CHAPTER: We Are Poised For Even Greater Heights!

It was the firm conviction of the legendary Fr. Michael Fitzgerald ocd of blessed memory, that 'Nigeria is full of vitality, verve and vigour'!
This belief was given even more weight at the just concluded Nigerian Vicariate Assembly in Abuja, capital city of Nigeria. Having come a long way, and being poised for even greater heights, the Vicariate elected eight delegates to its Chapter coming up on August 28 this year till September 02, 2011.
The elected delegates are: Fr. Emmanuel Nwadike ocd, Fr. Luke Orakwelu ocd, Fr. Francis Odigbo ocd, Fr. Kenneth Mmuoebonam ocd, Rev. Ambrose Ekeroku ocd, Rev. Joseph Odiahi ocd and Br. Michael Adu ocd.
Together with the ex-officio members of the Chapter (the Priors of our seven existing houses and members of the Vicariate Council), these delegates form a cohesive team for this all important Chapter in August this year at our Novitiate Community in Nsukka.
Since the next three years of the life of the Carmelite Order in Nigeria largely depends upon the success of this Chapter, please do join us in praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all the deliberations and decisions of this Chapter.
