Nigeria is full of vitality, vigour and verve. With most of us Discalced Carmelites under fifty years of age, youth is everywhere having its exuberant zest in life and ministry. There is a great effervescence of life, always something new happening, just happened or just about to happen.
Just recently - July 16, 2010 we celebrated the first religious profession of not one, not two, BUT NINE! of our friars.It was a well attended celebration in our Novitiate Commuynity at Nsukka, in the company of the family of the professed, friends and well wishers. The occasion was also graced by the presence of our friars from virtually all our communities in Nigeria.
Our gratitude and prayers goes to the family and parents of the newly professed for the sacrifice they have made. We wish also to thank our Anglo-Irish Province and the entire Discalced Carmelite Order for the good foundation they laid for us and for supporting and praying for us. In a very special way, we are most grateful to you for being always there for us, thank you.
